The Opportunity: Inventory Controller

We’re on the lookout for an Inventory Controller join our operations team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Inventory Controller is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager and ensuring equipment requirements for each event are met with a primary focus on equipment availability, general administrative duties and ensuring that systems and paperwork relating to Equipment Control are processed correctly and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify equipment shortages
  • Identify cross-hired items and their origin.
  • Maintain awareness of department cost parameters and control operating costs
  • Liaise with relevant staff regarding required or needed equipment
  • Communicate if another piece of equipment may be used as an alternative to transferring or
    cross hiring
  • Assist with transfer preparation and deliveries
  • Generate transfers for base and venues checking equipment availability
  • Liaise with team to rectify late equipment shortages
  • Follow up on equipment damage or lost equipment with the relevant departments
  • Assess and give input on the purchase of new equipment
  • Become proficient in other operational areas of the day to day running of the department
  • Source and negotiate best price practices with all Sub Rent suppliers
  • Act as a role model for team members
  • Seek out opportunities for operational improvements
  • Ensure accessibility to provide advice and guidance to staff as well as acting as a sounding board
  • Work to the Company’s policies and processes and procedures.
  • Cooperate with others to achieve the business outcomes
  • Other duties as required or assigned by managers

What we're looking for in an Inventory Controller

The successful candidate will be a customer focused individual who demonstrates a high level of understanding the clients needs and being able to recommend solutions. If you’re passionate about events and looking for career progression in the Audio Visual and Events industry, then we want to hear from you!

  • Experience in the Hospitality, AV or Events industry highly desirable
  • Must be able to earn the respect and confidence of the crew
  • High level computer skills

  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
